Last November, a film was produced highlighting how ABS supports Novisem in optimizing its seed logistics. Originally broadcast on Dutch television, this ABS company film is now available to everyone on our YouTube channel, showcasing in a clear and engaging way how ABS Seed can streamline processes, improve accuracy and add value to your seed company.
At the seed breeding company Novisem, every day begins with the same mission: managing, processing, and tracking thousands of unique seed lines with precision. A smooth and error-free workflow is essential.
That’s why Wouter van Stuyvesant Meijen, CEO of ABS, guides us through the logistical process inside Novisem. As he speaks, the footage shows how carefully each step is carried out. Boxes are opened, seed packets are checked, and batches are registered one by one using scanners that feed their data directly into the ABS Seed Software.

On the screens, all relevant information appears instantly: origin, batch details, location, planning. Everything needed to keep the workflow organized and efficient. Staff members use handheld scanners to record each action, and within seconds the system generates prints and labels for accurate identification.
You see labels rolling out of the printer, perfectly tailored for bags, boxes, and crates. Every scan confirms what is where, and the software supports the team through each link of the chain, from receiving new seeds to shipping carefully selected samples.
Step by step, a complete picture emerges: ABS Seed is more than just software. It is the silent engine that keeps Novisem’s logistical chain running smoothly, reliably and transparently. ABS Breeding: 2-factor-identification
Traditional passwords alone are no longer enough to protect your sensitive data against smart bots, while everyone knows that email addresses + passwords are being sold on the dark web. ABS Breeding while providing a Software as a Service solution, has already several layers of security. These security layers can be operated and flexible integrated within the chosen security standards of the customer. However, with the AI tools available today, ABS is dedicated to introduce another security layer for its customers in the form of 2-factor-authentication, also known as 2FA. The 2-factor-authentication is ranked as the single most effective defence against the vast majority of cyberattacks.
In essence 2-factor-authentication requires a second device when you want to access your application on your first device. That second device can be a phone or security token or even biometrics can be an option. For access with 2-factor-authentication you need to have knowledge AND physical access to a device.
In the situation of 2-factor-authentication for ABS Breeding we have chosen for the most commonly used logic via Google Authenticator. It is likely that you have this App already on your phone.
ABS Breeding is working on the finalization of this additional security tool. We expect to release the new 2FA functionality in test within the first quarter of the year 2026.
